City Tour in Quito
In the colonial historic district of Quito you will find the stone-carved facade of Ecuador's House of Congress depicting scenes from Ecuadorian history.
Located in the center of historic Quito is Independence square, which is bordered by the Presidential Palace and the historic Cathedral.
Visit the church of La Compañia, built in 1605, with its breathtaking gilded altars, considered the finest example of baroque art in America. Also, the church and monastery of San Francisco (1535) should not be missed.
For a panoramic view of Ecuador's capital city we go to the top of Panecillo Hill where on a clear day you will be able to see the volcanoes that surround Quito and historic downtown Quito.
