Maquipucuna Eco Lodge, near Quito
Located just outside of Quito,
this Reserve is an ecological treasure. Within the 5000 hectares
of land, visitors will be delighted to find lush cloud forest.
There are over 1200 species of plants, 45 mammals, 350 birds,
and 250 butterflies, in addition to archeological sites left
behind by ancient inhabitants.
There is an eco-lodge on the grounds
nearby crystal waterfalls, dining and living areas for guests,
delicious meals, and hot water. Activities include birdwatching,
swimming, and mountain biking in surrounding areas.
Maquipucuna is an excellent place
to get a feel for the rich life and diversity that exists
