The Origin of Species voted the most influential academic book in the world<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Darwin\u2019s book was up against works written by Plato, Einstein, Orwell, Shakespeare, Marx, and others.<\/p>\n

According to Professor Andrew Prescott of the University of Glasgow, Darwin\u2019s book won the vote because it has, \u201cchanged the way we think about everything \u2013 not only the natural world, but religion, history and society.\u201d<\/p>\n
