Ecuador Travel News: Yellow Fever Vaccine Requirement

Due to recent Yellow Fever outbreaks in the region, the Ecuadorian government has introduced new health entry requirements for travelers arriving from Colombia, Peru, Bolivia, and Brazil, effective May 12, 2025.

Who Needs a Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate?

  • Citizens and residents of Colombia, Peru, Bolivia, and Brazil.
  • Travelers of any nationality who have spent more than 10 days in any of these countries prior to arriving in Ecuador.

Vaccine Guidelines

  • The Yellow Fever vaccine must be administered at least 10 days before your arrival in Ecuador.
  • A single dose provides lifetime protection, and previously issued vaccination certificates will be accepted.

Be prepared to present your vaccination certificate:

  • Before boarding your flight, bus, or boat to Ecuador.
  • Upon arrival in Ecuadorian territory.
