At Galapagos Travel Center, we aim to provide a wonderful experience while also taking care of the Islands and its people for generations to come through sustainability and preservation initiatives.

Everything we do impacts the environment around us, so in collaboration with local and international organizations, we have committed to protecting the environment, offsetting our carbon footprint, and supporting local communities in Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands.

Our sustainability projects have 3 main focus areas:

By choosing us, you are embarking on a 100% carbon neutral journey. And you are also personally contributing to the following social and environmental actions:

100% Carbon Neutral Journey

Conservation Foundation Jocotoco is an Ecuadorian organization that protects critical conservation areas of endangered species in Ecuador by acquiring and managing biological reserves.

Galapagos Travel Center sponsors more than 500 hectares in the Buenaventura Protected Reserve in El Oro, Ecuador through the Jocotoco Foundation. This area captures 3,860 tons of carbon, which offsets the amount of greenhouse gas emissions that we generate in all our operations.

How do we calculate our carbon footprint?

  • Flights to and from Galapagos for our passengers
  • Emissions generated during our passengers' Galapagos cruises
  • Emissions generated in office: electricity and car fuel for staff commutes.
Carbon Offset By doing this, we offset 1.5 tons of CO2 per passenger.
